Halloween arrived at Bath & Body Works earlier than ever this year—end of June, to be exact—and fans immediately noticed something strange. The initial “Summerween” release felt a little… thin. Smaller displays. Fewer products. Only one brand-new scent (“I Scream Float,” a cherry cola-inspired concoction).

Bath & Body Works kicked off spooky season earlier than ever with its Summerween lineup—over 70 products spanning body care and home fragrance. Here are some photos from the first day:

Here’s a Breakdown of Halloween 2025’s Products:

  • I Scream Float – A cheeky new gourmand scent, blending fizzing cola with scoops of vanilla and a sugary finish.

  • Missing from the lineup:  Scents Spooky Moontini, Everlasting Magic, Purrfect Pumpkin, all products not available in all scents. For example, I’d love a one-wick version of Candy Apple Cauldron, but that does not seem to be available anywhere.
  • Returning favorites:

    • Vampire Blood – Red berries, jasmine, plum.

    • Ghoul Friend – Dark strawberry, peony, citrus.

    • Wicked Vanilla Woods – Vanilla, glowing amber wood, pink pepper.

    • Immortal – Men’s fragrance: black plum, saffron, aged oak (now boxed in a coffin shape).

    • Candy Apple Cauldron – Green apple, sugar, bergamot.

    • Pumpkin Carving – Pumpkin, spiced seeds, brown sugar.

Most telling that something was up was the fact that discounts began rolling out almost immediately.

Shoppers quickly put two and two together: Bath & Body Works wasn’t done with Halloween.

A Summerween Shock

If you were watching the app last weekend, you know exactly what I’m talking about: 50% off all Halloween items, combinable with a 20% off coupon. That meant die-hard collectors could scoop up everything from spooky hand soaps to the $275 Haunted House Luminary for 70% off.

.

Yes, 70%.  If you don’t have the app, now’s the time to go download it!!

I’ll confess—I finally caved and grabbed the Haunted House and the coffin candle holder. No regrets. They’re incredible. Plus, I managed to complete my Halloween 2025 3-wick candle collection in one fell swoop.

Come on!  SO CUTE!!!

Enter Disney Villains

Now we know what Bath & Body Works was clearing shelf space for: the newly announced Disney Villains Halloween Collection. (See official announcement here)

The collection features spooky-cute designs inspired by Disney baddies like Maleficent, Ursula, and Cruella de Vil. It’s colorful, campy, and very “Disney goth lite.”

I don’t know if I’m allowed to post the official Disney photos (which I saved over on my Pinterest if you want to go look at them). Here are some shots from a random person on social media (who clearly has insider access):

The Backlash

Here’s the rub: hardcore Halloween fans aren’t thrilled. While Disney fans are delighted, some spooky-season purists feel like the collab doesn’t belong in Halloween’s lane. The vibe, they argue, leans more toward “cute villain merch” than true gothic Halloween décor.

So now, the community is divided:

  • Disney fans: super thrilled about collectible, limited-edition Villains candles.

  • Halloween die-hards: side-eyeing Disney stuff in their haunted house.

Final Thoughts

Personally, I think there’s room for both—but I get why people feel like the Villains line steals thunder from what was shaping up to be a strong Halloween season. Either way, if you’re into either Halloween or Disney (or both), this year’s Bath & Body Works lineup might be one of the most collectible in recent memory.
